Conference I&R 2024

The Image and Research Conference (Antoni Varés Conference) has been held in the city of Girona since 1990. This event brings together every two years experts and the public interested in debating, reflecting and teaching different aspects related to the management of photographic and audiovisual heritage.

The Conference addresses this issue from a broad perspective that covers a multitude of specialties, from the study of historical photography to the management of cultural heritage, archiving and new technologies, among others. They are also characterized by the desire to know the state of the issue on the international scene, accommodating speakers of various nationalities. All this knowledge is collected with the publication of the proceedings of the presentations, experiences and communications.

The 18th edition of the Image & Research Conference will be held on November 21 and 22, 2024 in the Auditorium Palau de Congressos of Girona, with the corresponding presentations. As has become usual in recent years, the workshops will take place on the 20th and 23rd of November at the Centre for Image Research and Dissemination.
