Specific Cultural Tourism

The 'Call' (Jewish quarter) of Girona takes part in a programme of cultural travels specialised in Jewish history, called Jewish Heritage in Iberia: Routes of Sepharad.

The British tour operator Study Journeys has programmed an itinerary for groups with a limited number of participants. The tour takes 16 days and starts in Portugal: Lisbon, Tomar, Evora, Coimbra, Porto and Belmonte; then passing on to Spain: Hervás, Toledo, Córdoba, Besalú and Girona. This initiative had been started in Girona more than ten years ago, and has brought hundreds of North-American tourists anxious to learn, to the city.

The tour combines theory lessons in English language by experts in the specific field of Jewish heritage in each city with guided visits and complementary cultural offers.

The secretariat of the Red de Juderías is in charge of the coordination of the programme.
