Workshop of Jewish cooking and guided visit to the temporary exhibition 'Estelina's table'

Enjoy a gastronomic experience with all the senses

Wednesday, July 26,
Museu d'Història dels Jueus

Food was a distinguishing feature for the Jewish community. Their identity was marked from very strict dietary rules, described in detail in the Bible.

Previous to the cooking workshop, we will enjoy a guided tour to the temporary exhibition at the Museum of Jewish History, Estelina’s table about Jewish cuisine in the frame of the Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine in the Middle Ages.

Then at the workshop we will elaborate traditional recipes that still today Jewish people prepare at home to share with family and friends. A unique experience to deep into this aspect of the Jewish history and culture. We will prepare challah, hummus, eggplant caviar, a carrot salad (sephardic style), an Israeli salad, bourekas and sufganiot.

The workshop includes a dinner at the end of the session, as well as drinks, wine and beer during the activity.
