Aigües

The jewish quarter mikveh at the International Mapping Festival of Girona

Friday, July 31,
Call de Girona

From the 24th July until the 2nd August the city of Girona will be celebrating the II International Mapping Festival of Girona (FIMG), a festival that is open to everyone and which merges Girona's architectural value with contemporary creation through innovation and the audiovisual arts.

For thet days the city fills up with light as it becomes the global mapping reference. Artists and professionals in the field of mapping will demonstrate the high level of artistic value this discipline holds via large-format projections onto some of the city's most iconic buildings.

The FIMG also hosts the II International Mapping Contest; runner-up projects in the open mapping contest will be projected on façades and buildings throughout Girona. Another activity celebrated as part of the FMIG is the I International Mapping Congress, a space for debate and reflection among professionals in this field.

At the Bonastruc ça Porta Centre mikveh you could enjoy the project Aigües a creative proposal by Carmen Platero and Teresa Martín around the relationship between water and women from history and the ritual of female intimacy.
