The European Night of Museums was created in 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. Since 2011, it is sponsored by ICOM. The purpose: to allow the public to visit the museums at night, for free and in a different, unusual and more sensory way.

The Museum of Jewish History participates once again in this international event, with Open Doors until midnigth. In addition, GironaMuseus has scheduled two special night activities that require prior registration: a guided tour entitled Quan el Museu no era Museu to find out particular details of the museum buildings, which will end with a concert by Clara Gispert in the gardens of the Girona Art Museum.
