Iehuda Amikhai, clavats a la carn del món

Lecture by Manuel Forcano

Tuesday, June 19,
Institut d'Estudis Nahmànides

The conference cycle "Jewish authors of the 20th century" aims to present different literary personalities of the twentieth century, which in some way (by birth, formation, culture, affiliation, or negation) have had a relationship with Judaism. We want to present them from one of their works, or from his set of texts, books, writings, and from the perspective of analysis of "Judaism" or Jewish culture and all that implies.

Manuel Forcano will talk about the poet Yehuda, one of the great beacons of European and universal poetry of the twentieth century, who embodied in his poetry the profound balance in all areas.

Manuel Forcano, Barcelona, is a Hebrew poet and translator for Yehuda Amikhai. His translations from Hebrew, Arabic, English and French include the anthology Clavats a la carn del món by Yehuda Amikhai (2001) and Els viatges d'Ibn Battuta (Proa, 2005)".
