The troubadours of the three cultures

Microconcerts in the frame of the 'European Days of Jewish Culture'

Friday, August 31,
Museu d'Història dels Jueus

The Museum of the History of the Jews presents a series of very unique concerts, in sessions of 20 to 30 minutes, at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm: The Trio Burruezo & Medievalia Camerata will delight us with the melodies of their last album, Dervish & Troubadours; on this occasion, with a special predilection for the themes of the album which are versions of traditional Sephardic pieces sung in Ladino. The repertoire will also include some pieces of the troubadours and the Sufi world.

This year the 'European Days of Jewish Culture' have the motto "Storytelling ". For this reason, the interpreters will explain the lyrics of each song, where these pieces come from, what they mean ...

Songs like “El rei de Franzia”, “Aman Aman”, “El meu cavaller”, “Morenika”, “La rosa s’enflorese” o “Allahouma”, among others (in Catalan, Spanish, Arabic and Ladino) from a new perspective that combines the contemporary prism and the medieval root.

Free activity with prior reservation.
