The Jewish World on the Big Screen. Cinema as a tool, and as a pretext
Cycle of lectures 2025
From the creation of Hollywood as a film industry to films that teach the cruelty of the Holocaust, cinema has been a powerful tool for telling stories, cultures and identities that make up the contemporary Jewish world. Through the seventh art, narratives have been woven about Jewish culture, the Jewish people, Jewish history. The cycle proposes to explore where this association between cinema and the Jewish fact comes from, and what plot of connections we can find between one and the other.
