Reservations

Do we have to book for group visits?
Yes, all groups must book their visit in advance by sending an email at reserves.callgirona@ajgirona.cat or by filling up the reservation form.


Which is the minimum of people to be considered a group?
When the reservation comes from an agency or an official guide, there's no minimum of people.


Which is the maximum of people allowed per group?
The maximum is 30 people per group. If the group is larger, it must be split and enter at 15 minutes intervals.


How much time in advance is required to book?
It is necessary to have the reservation at least 24 hours in advance.

Admission fees and payment

Which is the admission fee for groups?
With the reservation confirmed, the fee for groups is 2 euros per person; children under 14 years old are free.


Which payment methods are available?
You can pay in cash or by card (minimum of 10 euros) at your arrival. When making the reservation, companies or institutions can ask to pay by bank transfer.


How to pay by bank transfer?
Upon arrival, the group shall show a voucher from the agency with the final number of people and the tax data. Once the visit is done, you will receive an email with the invoice and the information to make the bank transfer.


Is there any day with free admission?
Yes, the first Sunday of every month the entrance is free, as well as several open doors days throughout the year (check the Agenda for more information).

Guidance options

Do you offer guided tours?
The museum offers educational tours for schools on demand. Nonscholar groups can contact Punt de Benvinguda in order to book a private guided tour with an official guide of Catalonia (only official guides are authorized to guide people inside the museum).


Do tourist guides enter for free?
Yes. Remember that only commentaries given by official guides are allowed in the museum.


Do you offer audio guides?
Yes, the museum has audio guides for individual visitors. This service is not available for groups.

Accessibility and other general questions

Which options are available for visitors with limited mobility?
Despite being inside a historical building, the museum has an elevator in a nearby building, from which you can access the permanent collection rooms. In case you need to use it, please contact us in advance.
The temporary exhibition rooms are fully accessible by wheelchair.

Until which time it is possible to visit the museum?
Visitors are allowed to enter until 30 minutes before closing time. In case of groups, last access will be 60 minutes before closing time.


Are there parking facilities in the museum?
The museum does not have a private car park. The nearest bus parking area is at the Fontajau area (next to the Fontajau sports pavilion).


Are visitors allowed to take pictures inside the museum?
Yes, the museum allows pictures without flash for personal use.


Is there wi-fi connection available?
Yes, the network CallGirona is open to everyone for free.


Is it free to visit the library?
Yes, the entrance to the library is public and free, you just need to tell the reception staff that you want to go there or access the building through Sant Llorenç street (check the opening hours).


Is it possible to organize private events in the courtyard of the Centre?
Yes, it is possible to hire the courtyard or the lecture room for private uses. You can find more information at the Space rental section.
