New material in easy reading

The Jewish History Museum has been working to improve its accessibility conditions (not only physical, which is the first thing that comes to mind, but also sensory and cognitive). Museums as spaces of generation and transmission of culture have a social responsibility and advance to guarantee the inclusion of all people.

For sensory accessibility, the Museum already has sign language interpretation for its audiovisuals, thanks to the support of the Regional Network of Museums of the Girona Region. You can access the videos from the Media library on our website.

In addition, during the last two years the Museum has developed a project to create easy-to-read materials. The Network has also been counted on and it has collaborated closely with the Easy-to-Read Associaciation. Easy reading is a writing method that is very necessary to transmit content to people with intellectual functional diversity, with developmental or learning disorders and also to people in the process of learning the language, when there are reading comprehension difficulties.

This new resource will improve the accessibility of the contents of the main exhibition. It can be consulted in accessible pdf from our website and very soon it can also be ordered in printed format with the entrance to the Museum.
