New virtual tour through the mikveh of the Museum of Jewish History

3D digitization project of the Girona History Museum

The Girona History Museum has promoted the creation of virtual tours of some of the city's historical highlights, with the aim of making them more accessible. The project has digitized in 3D different places that are difficult to access, such as the cathedral bell tower or the terrace of the tower of the History Museum. Others, such as the cistern and the coal pit, also of at the History Museum, or the mikveh remains of the Museum of Jewish History, are visitable, but not for everyone, and not every day.

During the Fairs of Sant Narcís in 2021, the History Museum presents the first results of the project: the 3D recreations of the cathedral bell tower and the mikveh, compatible with virtual glasses, offer a unique experience for the knowledge of historical places and archaeological sites of the city. The resources are available both in the respective museums and on their websites, so you can enjoy them from home.

The archeological remains of the 15th century mikveh (Jewish ritual bath) can be visited on the second floor of the Museum of Jewish History. This initiative has made them also visitable virtually, through an interactive that is in the reception of the Museum, or through this website:
