Esquerdar el cel, pre closing activity on the temporary exhibition "Je vous offre les oiseaux, us ofereixo els ocells"

Dramatized reading of texts about Auschwitz, in memory of the victims of the Nazi camps

The Jewish History Museum organizes this activity within the framework of the temporary exhibition that can be visited until May 2. The event, which will take place on Saturday at 11:30 am in the Museum's courtyard, is made up of a scenographic space in which two actresses will embody some voices of survivors of Nazi camps who gave testimony of their relationship with the environment (the forests that they were not, the flowers that did not seem it, the birds that were absent or sinisterly present). With the intervention of Marta Marín-Dòmine, installation author, and the actresses Isabelle Bres and Carol Muakuku, who will give voice to the texts.

The event is linked to the installation Je vous offre les oiseaux / Us ofereixo els ocells, an artistic proposal designed as a recognition to one of the perceptions shared by many survivors: never having seen a bird flying over the concentration camps. The installation takes the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp as a reference to make ethically relevant the contrast between what is perceived in everyday life and its distortion under a situation of extreme violence.
