International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust 2026

Commemorative event

Thursday, January 29th - 19.30 h
Saló de Plens. Ajuntament de Girona

The International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust takes place every January 27, the date of the liberation of the concentration and extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. In order to renew the fight against racism, antisemitism, and all forms of intolerance and violence against any group of people, the United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 of 2005 calls on governments worldwide to commemorate this date annually.

The Museum of Jewish History will participate in this remembrance once more, hosting a commemorative event on January 29 at 19:30 in Girona City Council's Plenary Hall.

The event will feature the interventions of Ricard Valentí, specialist in Holocaust studies of the Gipsy people, and Daniela Rosenfeld, researcher on the history of the Shoah of the Jewish People.

Open event. It is advised to register in advance.

Organized by: Patronat Call de Girona. Place: Girona City Council's Plenary Hall
