Presentation of the book L'Alcorà. Una immersió ràpida by Silvia Planas, director of the Museum of Jewish History, and by the book’s author, Dolors Bramon.

The Qur’an is Islam’s sacred book, believed to be the word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
This work examines its content, structure, and key features, and explains its role as the primary source of Islamic law. It also addresses controversial topics such as internal contradictions, alleged violence, and the notion of houris as an eternal reward.

Author
Dolors Bramon, PhD in Semitic Philology (1984) and in Medieval History (1998) from the University of Barcelona, is a professor at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences of Barcelona and Emeritus Professor at the University of Barcelona and the Institute of Catalan Studies. She is the author, among others, of: Obertura a l’Islam; L’islam avui. Alguns aspectes controvertits; Moros, jueus i cristians en terra catalana: Memòria del nostre passat and Ser dona i musulmana.
