In parallel with the exhibition Jewishwood. The Jewish contribution to the birth of Hollywood, we propose a series of 4 meetings to discuss literary works that have been made into films: "Del llibre a la gran pantalla".

Second session: Tevye the Milkman, by Sholem Aleichem.

Tevie, a Jew from Tsarist Russia, is a devoted father who faces the misfortunes of his life with patience and irony. In the face of adversity, he rebels philosophically while resigning himself at the same time. His character transcends the Jewish and Russian context to become a universal symbol of the poor who struggle against injustice and inequality.
