VIVES! piece

A proposal of scenic art to transmit and give life to the testimonies of combative women committed to the anti-fascist struggle, within the framework of the 'Nights of Music in the Jewish quarter'

Thursday, August 12,
Museu d'Història dels Jueus

VIVES! is a project born from the will to artistically explore, from different disciplines, the springs of resilience, solidarity, dignity and the survival spirit of the human soul in a context of great injustice, suffering and death. It is inspired by the women who, like Neus Català and Charlotte Delbo, not only struggled and survived the unimaginable but also recounted their experience and that of their companions with all the harshness.

The project began to be outlined in 2019 with the intention of starting in 2020 and with the purpose of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, but the context of restrictions generated by the Covid-19 has forced them to postpone the presentation. During this time, they has been working on the documentary search for the artistic project and the creative and movement search, together with the development of the dramaturgy and the design of the scenic space.

We invite you to discover a piece taken from this work in progress. You will be able to enjoy and see from within the creative process, research and rehearsals of the first residency of the entire artistic and technical team.
