Jornada Europea de la Cultura Jueva

Jewish Journeys

Digital exhibition

From September 6, 2020
Museu d'Hist˛ria dels Jueus

Travel is a very important part of Jewish history.

Since exile from the land of Israel in the year 70, the Jewish people have been moving and have lived in different countries seeking religious tolerance and economic opportunities. Pilgrimage trips, trips motivated by persecution and religious intolerance, personal discovery trips, spiritual trips ... a long list of reasons that you will find in this magnificent exhibition.

The exhibition also reflects the life and culture of the societies in which they found shelter; they came together in a kind of fusion, as the diaspora adapted to and embraced local customs, creating a rich mosaic of ever-evolving Jewish customs, languages, and traditions.

This exhibition, sponsored by the European Association of Jewish Culture (AEPJ), and held by the National Library of Israel, has been adapted to Catalan by the patronat Call de Girona team.
