David Goberman's photographs document the gravestones of the Jewish cemeteries in Ukraine and Moldova, a region in which the Jews began to establish themselves since the 16th century. These cemeteries, in use from the 18th century until the beginning of the 20th century, were destroyed by Nazis and Soviets. The photos of this exhibition, made in the 50s and 60s, are an emotional memory of what remained.
