Cycling

Road cycling lovers will enjoy the large network of secondary roads with unforgettable views and points of interest, due to Girona's strategic location between the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava.

Famous international professional cyclists such as Ryder Hesjedal, Sam Bewley, Luke Durbridge, David Millar, Dan Martin, Michael Hepburn, Lucy Martin, Emilia Fahlin, Georgia Bronzini and Matt Brammeier all stay in Girona for long periods while training for the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France and the world championships. On the other hand, cycling teams such as Cannondale- Garmin, GreenEdge, Sky, Rabobank and BMC, among others, all use Girona city as a base camp for their training programmes.

The Gavarres Massif, spanning nearly 350 km², is a magnificent area for mountain bike lovers to explore.

Pedalling along tracks, rough trails, and woodland paths... is a unique way to experience the exceptional natural surroundings in the area.
