New action on Sopra e sotto la città europea (Above and Underneath the European city) EU project

One action of this project was to organise an amateur video competition designed to promote the historical and heritage values of the city.

The project focuses attention on finding solutions for problems encountered by middle-sized cities in getting to know their own historical and urban past. The exploitation of interesting archaeological sites is often impeded by a chaotic urban tissue; there is the added difficulty of representing an attractive cultural destination that is more than just a place along the route to somewhere else, good for a business meeting or a quick stop-over.
In Brindisi, Toulouse and Girona, the idea is to highlight the characteristic geographical, historical and archaeological features of each city, to seek out the hidden potential of less-familiar aspects of local culture and tradition and to make them known to the wider public through a common cultural tourism promotion plan.
