A conference talks about the origins of Girona

Dr Narcís Soler will talk today (20h) of the origin of the inhabitants of Kerunta Gerunda and, in the period from the age of metals.

For the scientific community, it is known that the city of Girona (GERUNDA), founded by the Romans in the first century AD, was born of a located at the top of the mountain of Sant Julia de Ramis (Kerunta) city, existing in the sixth century AD.
Some sources that have marked the fate of two neighboring villages, which enabled the establishment of relations still existing day but whose origins for the general population, lies like a great unknown.
It is for this reason that the city of Girona participates actively in the celebration of the centenary, with two lectures on the relationship between Girona and Sant Julia de Ramis.
