The gallery devoted to the onset of the Republic will be taking up some of the museographic communication features used for the exhibition The Second Republic in Girona (1931-1936). 75th Anniversary, staged during the 2006 season. The appearance of the theme-gallery devoted to the sardana will also be revamped to include the latest donations. The gallery housing the collection of scores and sheet music by Antoni Barnés, together with a donation of the well-konwn tenora (a traditional Catalan shawm) “Catroi” by the deceased composer and tenora player Ricard Viladesau, and his musical archive.

His archive comprises nearly two hundred sardana compositions, half-a-dozen dance themes, havaneras, goigs (sung poetic compositions in honour of the Virgin Mary), trophies, mementoes of first performances and photographs of the many homages he received.

A primordial space will house all items relating to the city of Girona, such as instrumental-parts sheet music of the sardanes that the maestro dedicated to Girona. In addition to the iconic Girona m'enamora, which received its first performance at the Municipal Theatre in 1990, there is El Tarlà de l'Argenteria, Cors gironins, Girona 1808, Girona a Pep Ventura, Estampa gironina, Sant Pere de Galligants and Noces d'Or. Viladesau will also have a special soffit devoted to him, with his tenora placed in a glass case alongside that of Josep Coll, one of his teachers.
