"Judeo-Islámica: Judaísmo en tierras del Islam desde una perspectiva de género"

This autumn, the Research Group Sacred Texts of Judaism and Islam (ILC - CSIC) is offering an interesting course that can be taken online. We are sharing it with you in case it is of interest to you.

«Judeo-Islámica: Judaísmo en tierras del Islam desde una perspectiva de género» is a course open to the general public. Its main objective is to introduce, from a variety of perspectives, the relations and interaction between Judaism and Islam throughout History, with a gender perspective. The contents tend to be introductory to the topic presented and are always accompanied by bibliography and tools so that students can explore the aspects that interest them independently. One of the topics that will be explored in depth will be Jewish life and culture under Islamic rule in the medieval period and, more specifically, the period known as the "Golden Age" that took place in al-Andalus. The course will also reach the contemporary world and the complex situation experienced by the Jewish population of Arab origin in the State of Israel.
