Call de Girona
A startling, graphic report made during the 2006 summer by a photographer from Girona, showing the look on the faces of people trapped in the story of successful and failed relationships between Jews and Palestinians.
The inauguration will take place on Friday, October 19th at 8 pm, at the Bonastruc ça Porta Centre (access through St. Llorenç street)
There is no single reality, but different eyes that look at it. The conflict between Israel and Palestine continues to exist. Half of the Arabian world denies the existence of the state of Israel, whereas Palestine continues without the acknowledgement of the other half of the world.
Israel, Summer 2006. A senseless war (if there are any wars that make sense). During these days my notebook and my camera took a stroll through the different parts of this charming place: Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Yaffa, Akko, Bethlehem...I approached each and everyone so that their voices should be heard and their faces observed.
The faces in this exhibition are a small sample of the half a thousand instant photos that I have taken. They cannot appear all of them, though their voices are representative of a social structure of incomparable wealth. Voices and faces (those of the civil population) that in spite of the chronic tiredness look forward, to a future where they possibly will be able to coexist.
