Founded in 1846, this is one of the oldest museums in Catalonia. It houses archaeological finds from excavations in the region of Girona, from prehistory up to the Middle Ages, in particular from Emp˙ries and Girona.

June to September: Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 19.00 h; Sunday and holidays from 10.00 to 14.00 h.
October to May: Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 18.00 h; Sunday and holidays from 10.00 to 14.00 h.
Closed on Mondays, 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 and 6 January.
Normal admission: 4,50 €
Reduced admission: 3,50 € (people 65 years or more, people under 25, pensioners, families of 2 adults and one child or more, and persons with disability certificate)
Reduced admission special: 2 € (groups of students with teacher who have reservation in monuments and sites between May 1 and August 31, person having the large family card or parent, groups or participating in cultural events, conferences and other activities properly identified)
Free admission: People under the age of 8 years, unemployed, members of ICOM (International Council of Museums) and ICOMOS (International Council of Monuments), members of the Association of Museum of Catalonia , duly certified, people of formal education teachers , duly accredited, groups of students with teacher who have made a reservation, last Tuesday of each month between October and June (included).
