The projection "Oníric", by Moment Factory, will be opening Girona's International Mapping Festival 2014

The Canadian studio Moment Factory has created a unique projection to open Girona's International Mapping Festival (FIMG) with, on Wednesday 30th July at 10 P.M., on the façade of the seat of the Generalitat building in Girona.

The Canadian studio Moment Factory will be opening the first edition of the FIMG. They are specialised in conceptualising and producing all kinds of multimedia shows and environments, combining video, lighting, architecture, sound and special effects to create unforgettable experiences. Since 2001, the studio has set up more than 300 installations and events around the world, with clients including Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Microsoft and Sony.

The studio, whose headquarters are in Montreal, is here to present Girona Oníric, an original performance/projection combining live electronic music with visual effects, generated in real-time. Moment Factory is known for its collaboration with world-class leaders in entertainment, such as Cirque du Soleil and Madonna, and for video mapping shows projected on buildings all around the world, from the Sagrada Família to the Canadian Parliament.

This new work, exclusively created for the city of Girona, will transform the historic Antic Hospital de Santa Caterina into an architectural-scale audiovisual instrument. It's a real-time synthesis of sound and image, inspired by Surrealist reconfigurations of time and space.
The Oníric show will be projected onto the façade of the Generalitat building in Girona —the old Santa Caterina Hospital— only on Wednesday the 30th of July, from 10 P.M. to 1 A.M.
