I’ll give an short overview about
Zeutschel’s digitization portfolio.
The main subject is the open source
software Goobi for planning, managing, controlling, metadata capturing and
presenting digital collections. The software was originally developed for Libraries
and financed by the German Research Association (DFG). The ongoing
developments today are including requirements for archives also.
Another topic is the software MyBib eL
which enables institutions to present copyright material based on the legal
conditions.
Also the combination of Goobi and MyBib
eL I’ll show.
A last subject is a new way to present
historical and valuable books in 3D based on 2D scans. The product
3D-Explorer is a development of the German Fraunhofer Research Institution
and Zeutschel.
So as you can see this is not really an
academic presentation but very practical life. I’m using also examples from
existing installations.
About Goobi I’ll talk also about the
community and the cooperation and organization inside.
I’m a member of the board of “Goobi
Association”.
Thank you for your support.
