Girona Turisme launches online campaign to promote the city as a tourist destination for Easter
18/03/16 | Girona City Council has organised an online prize draw open to everyone who watches promotional videos of the cathedral and correctly answers four questions about the content.
The cathedral, setting and focal point of various religious events during Easter, is one of Girona's most visited monuments. The city's collection of important heritage buildings open to the public was given a boost in February with a new tourism product: the ‘Episcopal Girona' ticket. Promoted by the Catalan Government's Department of Culture and the Diocese of Girona, this combined ticket allows visitors to access the cathedral, the basilica of Sant Feliu and the Museum of Art, in the Episcopal Palace, for a special reduced price.
With the aim of continuing to raise awareness of this emblematic element of the city's heritage, during the coming weeks Girona Turisme will be publishing new videos of Girona cathedral that showcase its imposing façade and staircase, while also revealing some of the secrets hidden inside the building.
Girona City Council has launched an online prize draw open to everyone who watches these videos of the cathedral and correctly answers four questions about the content. This initiative is part of a publicity campaign designed to promote the city as a tourist destination and specifically aimed at online channels that also serve to publicise the different activities that have been planned, such as processions, parades by the manaies historical re-enactment group and concerts, as well as the cultural and gastronomic traditions of Easter Week.
