Girona City Council's Tourism Service is coordinating several promotion actions in collaboration with Elipsos, a Renfe and SNCF association set up to market international trains between France and Spain.

On 27 October, a group of six French journalists visited Girona in order to discover the city's tourist attractions and facilities at first hand and soak up the atmosphere of the Saint Narcissus Festival. The journalists, who arrived by train from Narbonne and Montpellier, took a cultural tour around the city, visited craft markets organised as part of the city's annual festival and sampled the local cuisine, enjoying the ambience and taking a different and very festive image of Girona back home with them.

The aim of these actions is to raise awareness, recognition and the positioning of Girona as a destination among the market in the south of France. The journalists hosted as part of this initiative represented various media, such as Radio Languedoc, the magazines Grizette and Femme Actuelle and three blogs: La trottineuse, My urban sweetnesses and Les tribulations d'Anas.
