New tourist APP for the city of Girona
15/04/15 | Girona City Council presents a tourist guide to the city for smartphones and tablets that will take users on a tour around the city accompanied by texts by the journalist and writer from Girona Miquel Faņanās.
This application for mobiles and tablets will guide users around the most attractive parts of the city for tourists, such as its monuments and museums, as well as allowing them to discover some less well-known aspects of Girona, such as the city's legends and curiosities. It is a very useful tool for those wanting to get to know Girona in greater depth, whether they are tourists or locals.
The app contains sections dedicated to Jewish Girona and mysterious Girona, which include elements that may have gone unnoticed even by local residents. In addition to these two sections, there is also a chapter on historical Girona, and others dedicated to two of the Girona counties' famous sons, author Josep Pla and architect Rafael Masó, another revealing Girona's sinful side, and one detailing the city's natural spaces and providing other useful information. This project is being promoted by the writer and journalist from Girona Miquel Faņanās. The guide includes texts written by the author himself and photographs taken by Jordi Torres.
The application, entitled Guia de Girona. A city to be discovered, is currently available for Android, and a version for iPhone is coming very soon. The download costs 1.99 (+ VAT). It will be available in Catalan, Spanish, English, French and Russian.
