Girona Auditorium's new six-month programme
08/01/15 | Girona Auditorium is offering a varied programme for the first half of 2015 that combines a well-balanced selection of big names from the international scene with home-grown musicians and talent in order to attract new audiences.
The programme includes 37 concerts, of which 20 are of classical music, 14 of them are modern music and three are family concerts, and these are complemented by the activities held in Espai Marfà.
An increase in the number of orchestras will be one of the important notes that add special colour to this season's programme. Of particular interest among them are: the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Cornelius Meister and with the pianist Varvara; Raquel Andueza and Xavier Sabata, an exceptional duo with two of today's most outstanding voices; Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra, with Rudolf Buchbinder on piano; the Catalan Baroque Orchestra, which will be performing the St. Matthew Passion, and the prestigious guitarist Milos, who is returning to Girona, accompanied on this occasion by GIOrquestra.
Highlights of the modern music programme include exclusive appearances by Joan Manuel Serrat, who will be presenting his latest work to the Girona counties; Sharon Corr, the leader of The Corrs, who will be performing a one-off concert in Catalonia; a unique performance by Maceo Parker & Girona Jazz Project, and the final dates in the musician from Sant Celoni Joan Colomo's tour.
In addition, the Auditorium will also be hosting some of Spain's biggest names, such as Sr. Chinarro, Ismael Serrano and Rafael Amargo, and top international artists such as Richard Bona and Slixs, one of the leading groups on the international a cappella music scene.
