Lectures on the history of the clock of the Cathedral of Girona

Five centuries of history to this watch, its operation and technical characteristics of the hand of Carlos Gonzalez.


The mechanical watch is exposed today in the Museum of the History of Girona was the work he did touch the bells and needles until the belfry of the Cathedral in 1982. The origins of this clock dates from the late fifteenth century. There have been five centuries when the clock has undergone many repairs and changes.

The event, organized by the Catalan Society of Gnomonics will take place on Thursday 3 April at 19.15h, in the auditorium of the Institute of Mercy, Barcelona. Admission is free.
