Successful culmination for the exhibition marking the 150th anniversary of the Girona Municipal Police Force (1856-2006)
The exhibition, staged by the curator Ramon Alberch and produced by Girona City Council, was put on in the Coal Cellar and Cistern rooms from 20 October to 10 December, and 8,865 visitors came to see it.
The exhibition reviewed the development of this police force, showing how it works today and how the police act with respect to society.
Girona City Council published the decree bringing the Municipal Police Force into being on 4 October 1856. This Force has thus been at the service of all the people of Girona for 150 years, with a culture built up in the past and an outlook geared towards the future.
The exhibition brought the programme of events celebrating the 150th anniversary to a close.
