Lights of Hanukkah in the Museum of Jewish History

From December 22nd 2011 to March 31st 2012 you will be able to visit in Girona a selection of the collection "A hundred lights for Casale Monferrato".


The Museum of Jewish History will host, from December 1st, a selection of the hanukkiot of the Jewish community of Casale Monferrato (Piedmont, Italy), with works by different artists and designers, Italian and French, Jews and non Jews, gathered by the artist Antonio Recalcati. The exhibition will be complemented with other works that are part of the Museum's permanent collection.

As complementary activities around the exhibition, an event is scheduled on Thursday, December 22nd evening, chaired by the mayor of Girona and chairman of the Patronat Call de Girona, Mr. Carles Puigdemont, consisting of the lighting of the Hanukkah lights. Then there will be a guided tour of the exhibition by its curator, Ms. Claudia de Benedetti, ending with a Hanukkah songs concert with the Choir Filharmonia, followed by a sweet tasting of Krumiri Rossi, a specialty of Casale Monferrato.

There will be also a workshop of Hanukkah lights, addressed to children and families, to be held on Tuesday, January 3 in the morning.
