Jornades Europees de la Cultura Jueva

The natural pantry of the Jewish Quarter

Guided tour in the frame of the 'European Days of Jewish Culture'

Sunday, September 2,
Museu d'Història dels Jueus

We will follow the steps of a Medieval cook from Girona that picks up natural ingredients for the Shabbath meal. From the courtyards of the Jewish quarter to the gardens outside the walls, the city offers a large and unexpected variety of edible and aromatic plants that are already mentioned in the Bible.

At every stop of the walk we'll find a plant with a very old cooking tradition and we'll see how recipes still exist in modern Jewish life and learn how to use them.

Duration: between 2 and 2.30 hours.

Free walking tour in Catalan language.
Information and bookings: reserves.callgirona@ajgirona.cat or telephone +34 972 21 67 61.
